Editorial policy
How we build information worth using.
Last reviewed: August 17, 2026. Earn Plan Save publishes practical educational tools and guides for pay, debt, and savings decisions. Trust matters more than producing pages quickly.
Who creates the content
Pages are published by the Earn Plan Save Editorial Team rather than being tied to an employer, financial institution, lender, or product seller. The site does not represent or receive direction from the user’s workplace. Where an individual specialist reviews a future page, that reviewer and qualification will be identified accurately.
How calculators are developed
Each calculator begins with a narrowly defined planning question. We document the formula, choose realistic default values, disclose exclusions, create a worked example, and test ordinary and edge-case inputs. Simplified models are labeled as estimates. When a result depends on rules that can change, we use primary sources and include a review date.
How guides are researched
We prefer primary public sources such as the Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Department of Labor, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Sources support rules and definitions; our examples and planning explanations are written to make those rules useful in everyday decisions. We do not copy or lightly rephrase third-party articles.
Use of AI assistance
Artificial intelligence may assist with outlining, drafting, calculation testing, code development, and identifying language that needs clarification. It is not treated as a factual source. Claims that depend on law, tax rules, or official definitions are checked against cited primary materials, and calculators are tested before publication.
Independence and monetization
Calculator outcomes do not change to promote a financial product. If advertising or an affiliate relationship is added, it will be identified and kept separate from editorial conclusions. Payment will not purchase favorable coverage or alter a formula.
Corrections and updates
Material errors are corrected as soon as reasonably possible. Review dates change only when a page has actually been checked or meaningfully updated. Readers can report a problem through the Contact page.
